Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday declared wholehearted support to transform Andhra Pradesh into nearly $2.5 trillion as envisaged in the Swarnandhra Pradesh Vision-2047.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting organised here on the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds in connection with launching of various developmental schemes worth Rs.2.08 lakh crore, he said the Centre is committed to fulfil AP Government's dream to usher in infrastructure revolution by making the State a classic instance of new age urbanisation.
Earlier, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan sought the support of the Prime Minister for rebuilding AP. Naidu invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate Amaravati once its ready and sought his blessings for inter-linking of rivers and completing Polavaram project.Naidu thanked Modi for his support in sanctioning of Google investment on a development centre in Visakhapatnam and supporting permission for bringing iron ore to a greenfield steel plant proposed near Visakhapatnam through a slurry pipeline.
In his address, Modi said AP will play a strong role in implementation of Vikasit India-2047 Vision, He said the State is the first to get Green Hydrogen Hub among two proposed by the NDA Government. AP is also successful in getting one among three Bulk Drug Parks sanctioned in India. He said the establishment of South Coast Railway Zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam will bring more industries and boost the local economy and urged the State Government to take initiatives for making the State a leading manufacturing hub.
In his speech he cited the success story of Sri City and pointed out that the launching of work on Kris City in Tirupati district as part of Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor will attract several investors in the smart city.
